Dr. Glavas maintains an academic appointment with NYU School of Medicine and a faculty position in the oculoplastic clinic of Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital. He is part of the staff at the Massachusetts Eye and ear Infirmary in Boston.

Dr. Glavas is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Board of Medical Specialties. He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He also belongs to the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

After devoting three years in medical research at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Dr. Glavas went for his internship in surgery at a Tufts Medical School hospital then moved to New York City for his residency in ophthalmology at NYU and Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital where he also obtained on year of aesthetic plastic surgery training and laser facial rejuvenation. He completed his training in ophthalmic plastic surgery at the New England Eye Center of Tufts Medical School.
